Please join AMA for our April meeting on Drafting the Mediated Settlement Agreement, Including Case Law Update and Pandemic Considerations. Family Law Attorney, Mediator, and Collaborative Law Practitioner, Sara Saltmarsh will discuss what you need to know today about drafting a mediated settlement agreement (MSA), including the effects of both recent case law and COVID-19. Her discussion will also include 15 minutes of ethics regarding the duties to advise and inform the client regarding the terms of the MSA. She plans to include a question and answer period at the end of her presentation.

Presenter:
Sara E. Saltmarsh has practiced Family Law for over 35 years. She has mediated Family Law and other legal disputes since 1990 and has been Board Certified in Family Law since 1992. Her practice is devoted to Family Law, Mediation, and Collaborative Law. A past Chair of the Family Law Section of the Austin Bar Association, Ms. Saltmarsh is current Chair of the ADR Section of the Austin Bar Association and serves on the Austin Bar Board. She is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas School of Law, and was recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer in 2020.
Ms. Saltmarsh is a frequent and popular speaker at Continuing Legal Education seminars. She has also authored legal articles on topics such as divorce procedure, local civil practice, and retirement benefits. She is an active community volunteer for many local organizations, including her children’s schools, the Austin Bar Association, and Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas.
